
Police inspector identified as source of weapon in Dr Victoria Mutiso's murder
Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI director Mohamed Amin has revealed that the pistol used to kill Dr Victoria Mutiso on July 29, 2026, was sourced from a police armoury in Kikuyu. Inspector of Police Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, officer-in-charge of Nderi Police Post, is identified as the individual who supplied the Mini Jericho pistol, serial number KP 47302127, which ballistic analysis confirmed as the murder weapon. Sang is currently at large. Constable Elijah Kibelion Kimoi of Karinde Police Post has been arrested and identified as the officer who fired the fatal shots. Another officer, PC Bett Kiplangat Collins of Thogoto Police Post, was forensically placed at the scene and remains at large with Sang. Dr Mutiso was shot three times while in an Uber, which was intercepted by two Toyota Prado vehicles. Daniel Mwangi Njoroge, who hired the vehicles, is identified as coordinating the logistics, and Kelvin Ngugi Kinuthia is named as a key member of the team.
