Kenya disburses KSh 850.7 million for orphans and vulnerable children program

This disbursement, announced by the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services, covers the July 2026 payment under the Inua Jamii program. Each beneficiary household will receive KSh 2,000, with payments starting on Tuesday, September 1, via a contracted payment service provider. The CT-OVC program aims to improve the welfare of children by supporting their school enrollment, access to healthcare and nutrition, household food security, and protection from vulnerability.

Principal Secretary for Children Services CPA Carren Ageng'o announced the disbursement in Nairobi on Wednesday, September 2. This initiative is part of the government's broader social protection efforts for vulnerable households and individuals.
