Karpowership supplies 150 MW to Gabon, representing approximately 25% of the country's generation capacity

Evans Damada, Karpowership's Country Director in Gabon, highlighted the rapid increase in the group's capacity from 70 MW to 150 MW since operations began in February 2025. This expansion included a transition to locally produced natural gas in September 2025, which is estimated to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 35% and nitrogen oxide emissions by five times compared to liquid fuel operations. Karpowership's model emphasizes flexibility, reliability, and adaptation to Gabon's evolving energy needs, supporting the country's energy transition, diversification of its electricity mix, and local employment.

The company operates in 14 countries, with eight in Africa, and has an installed global capacity of around 8,500 MW. In Gabon, Karpowership's Powership contributes nearly 60% of the available generation capacity serving the Libreville grid, helping to maintain balance between supply and demand, especially during peak periods and maintenance. Beyond electricity provision, Karpowership focuses on local capacity building, with approximately one-third of its workforce in Gabon being Gabonese.
