Tyson Fury casts doubt on Anthony Joshua fight, citing venue and financial disputes
Tyson Fury has publicly questioned the likelihood of his anticipated fight with Anthony Joshua, calling Joshua a coward and criticizing promoter Eddie Hearn. Fury stated on social media that the bout "doesn't look like it's going to happen" due to financial demands from Hearn and Joshua. The fight, initially expected in November, faces uncertainty regarding its venue. Joshua's camp reportedly signed for a UK staging, while Saudi organizers are pushing for a move to the United States. Hearn confirmed sending Sela, a Saudi-owned entity with contracts with both boxers, a list of proposed changes, primarily seeking improved compensation for Joshua due to different tax implications if the fight is held in America. Hearn noted that an American venue would result in less income for Joshua compared to a UK fight, as contractually agreed. The situation is further complicated by Dana White's Zuffa Boxing, co-owned by Sela, with Hearn suggesting they influenced Saudi officials to favor an American venue for broader appeal. Fury, however, expressed openness to White's involvement on his side and highlighted strong British boxing support for a UK-based fight.
