Kwekwe Polytechnic wins top innovation prize for smart traffic-light system

Kwekwe Polytechnic has been recognized as Zimbabwe’s Best Innovative Polytechnic, securing three national innovation prizes. The institution also successfully commercialized a locally developed smart traffic-light system, which is now operational in Mutare. The college received a prize of US$10,000 for this award, bringing its total innovation prize earnings for the year to US$19,000. Kwekwe Polytechnic Principal Evans Musara shared this achievement at the institution’s 41st graduation ceremony.
