Enugu Air CEO clarifies Benin Airport runway excursion was not a crash, confirms all safe

She confirmed that all passengers and crew members on board were safe, with no injuries or fatalities recorded. The aircraft, operating a scheduled flight from Lagos to Benin, experienced a runway excursion after hydroplaning during landing. A full investigation is underway in collaboration with relevant aviation authorities, and Enugu Air is cooperating fully. The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has also commenced an investigation, confirming all 63 passengers and five crew members were accounted for. Air Peace suspended flights to and from Benin Airport due to the temporary closure of the runway.

Bangladesh president resigns citing ill health
Bangladesh's President Mohammed Shahabuddin has resigned from his largely ceremonial role, citing deteriorating health. In a resignation letter to the speaker of parliament, Shahabuddin stated that his "worsening physical and mental incapacity" made it impossible for him to properly discharge the responsibilities of the presidency.
