
Egyptian Prime Minister reviews sovereign fund strategy to maximize state asset returns
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met with Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, to discuss the Sovereign Fund of Egypt's TSFE strategy for optimizing state assets. The Prime Minister highlighted the government's focus on leveraging TSFE as an investment arm to convert untapped resources into sustainable development projects, aiming to position Egypt as a regional hub for foreign direct investment through private-sector partnerships. Dr. Mohamed Farid detailed efforts to modernize TSFE's operations and secure high-value partnerships to drive economic growth. He also announced TSFE's plans for international expansion, including a specialized investment fund focused on Africa, targeting financial services, tourism, healthcare, and education, alongside a dedicated industrial investment fund. Cabinet Spokesperson Counselor Mohamed El-Homsany confirmed that the meeting included a review of TSFE's managed assets, progress on ongoing projects, and operational plans, emphasizing streamlined execution and economic criteria for new ventures. The strategy aims to diversify investment models and align with international sovereign fund standards, with a commitment to accelerating investment in high-yield, sustainable sectors.
