Oluremi Tinubu to visit Anambra State for empowerment and food security initiatives
Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will visit Anambra State on September 10, 2026, her first visit to the state since assuming office. The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the Federal Government and Anambra State, focusing on poverty reduction, economic empowerment, food security, and improved livelihoods for vulnerable citizens. A key event will be the empowerment of 5,000 people through the "Progressives United Against Poverty Initiative," a collaboration with the First Lady's Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Support Scheme. Additionally, the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East Geopolitical Zone will be launched in Anambra State during her visit, as part of efforts to enhance food security and support vulnerable households. Senator Tinubu is also scheduled to commission projects at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko. This visit follows President Bola Tinubu's previous commendation of Anambra State's development efforts and the partnership between the Federal Government and the state.
