
Tijaniyya Supreme Council visits President Tinubu to offer condolences on Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi's passing
The Supreme Council of Tijaniyya Worldwide, representing over 400 million members globally, visited President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja to offer condolences on the passing of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the former leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic organization in Nigeria. Sheikh Bauchi died on November 26, 2025, at 98. The delegation, which included members from Algeria, Nigeria, and Senegal, was led by Khalifa Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation. The condolence message was delivered by Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya in Algeria, who highlighted the historical ties between Nigeria and Algeria and pledged continued spiritual unity. President Tinubu thanked the delegation, honoring Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a beloved father and great leader, and praised the Tijaniyya movement's spiritual work across Africa and worldwide.
