Genk striker Rafiu Durosinmi targets Belgian Pro League Golden Boot
Genk striker Rafiu Durosinmi has expressed his ambition to win the Belgian Pro League's top-scorer award. The Nigeria international scored Genk's opening goal in their 2-1 defeat to Zulte Waregem, earning him the Man of the Match title. Durosinmi stated, "I want to score, I want to finish high in the standings, and I also want to go for the top scorer title. I have always dreamed of that." The 25-year-old aims to emulate compatriots Paul Onuachu and Tolu Arokodare, who previously finished as the league's leading scorers. Arokodare scored 14 league goals for Genk in the 2024/25 campaign to become the Pro League's top scorer. Durosinmi needs 13 more goals to match Arokodare's tally. Despite his individual performance, Genk experienced a disappointing start to the season, losing their opening match. Durosinmi will have another opportunity to score when Genk hosts Westerlo at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday.
