Improved pipeline surveillance boosts Nigeria's crude oil production and revenue

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, working with government security agencies, has been central to these efforts, protecting critical oil infrastructure in the Niger Delta. The Federal Government appointed Tantita Security Services, led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, to safeguard oil assets and promote peace in the Niger Delta. Stakeholders, including those from forensic, legislative, and host community sectors, have acknowledged the positive impact of coordinated surveillance on curbing oil theft and boosting production.

A recent National Dialogue on Pipeline Security in Abuja highlighted that improvements in crude oil production and reduced pipeline vandalism are linked to structured surveillance frameworks. Participants at the dialogue called for the preservation of these gains and cautioned against changes that could weaken existing structures or politicize pipeline security. The House of Representatives Committee on Host Communities and Public Petitions commended Tantita's role, citing increased crude oil production and improved stability in oil-producing communities, and passed a vote of confidence, urging a long-term renewal of the surveillance contract.
