GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi refutes Minority Leader's $1.7 billion loss claim for 2025
Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board GoldBod, has denied claims made by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin that GoldBod incurred losses of $1.7 billion in 2025. Gyamfi, speaking on August 19, 2026, during the Government Accountability Series, labeled these claims as "barefaced lies." He stated that Afenyo-Markin and his party members have repeatedly made these allegations in Parliament and the media, despite GoldBod's previous efforts to disprove them. Gyamfi asserted that GoldBod, contrary to these claims, recorded significant profits in 2025, with an overall surplus of GH垄5.4 billion. He cited the Auditor General鈥檚 report on GoldBod鈥檚 2025 financial statements as evidence, which disclosed an operational surplus of GH垄907 million and an overall profit surplus of GH垄5.4 billion for the year ended December 31, 2025.
