Hotel employee arrested for stealing money from African women's national team players in Casablanca

The individual is suspected of involvement in a series of thefts from the rooms of players from an African national team participating in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, currently being held in Morocco. An investigation began after a complaint reported the disappearance of several sums of money from the players' rooms. Police investigations identified the suspect, who works at the hotel, leading to his arrest on Saturday.

Searches conducted as part of the case led to the seizure of 10,000 dirhams, which corresponds to the total amount stolen. According to initial findings, the suspect had converted the stolen money, originally in dollars, into local currency. The individual has been placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office.

Investigations are ongoing to determine all the facts attributed to him.
