Health CS Aden Duale claims former CS Aisha Jumwa struggled with Cabinet papers, assisted her during meetings

Duale made these remarks at an event in Mombasa on Saturday, August 15, appearing to respond to Jumwa's recent political activities. He claimed he used to sit next to her and would sometimes read documents on her behalf, expressing that he felt "ashamed" by the situation. Duale's comments follow Jumwa's resignation from the United Democratic Alliance UDA on July 30, 2026.

Jumwa, who served as Cabinet Secretary for Gender until July 2024, cited prolonged humiliation and frustration over her political ambitions as reasons for her departure. She is reportedly eyeing the Kilifi governorship, a position she previously contested in 2022. Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has proposed Jumwa for a senior position, specifically deputy party leader, within his party, indicating potential new political alliances for her ahead of the 2027 General Election.
