Ghana Medical Trust Fund strengthens nationwide partnerships ahead of rollout

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is intensifying its efforts to establish strategic partnerships across the country in preparation for its official launch. The Fund is engaging with key stakeholders in the health sector, including Regional Directors of Health, to ensure a smooth and effective implementation of its objectives. During a high-level meeting at the Ghana Health Service headquarters, Director-General Prof Samuel Kaba Akoriyea praised the Fund's proactive initiatives to improve healthcare access for Ghanaians and reaffirmed the Ghana Health Service's commitment to collaboration. Prof Akoriyea also expressed optimism about ongoing infrastructure developments, such as new cardiology centers in Kumasi, Tamale, and Accra. Adjoa Obuobia Opoku-Darko, Administrator of the Fund, thanked the Director-General for his support and emphasized the need for closer collaboration to deliver healthcare support to eligible Ghanaians. She highlighted that strong institutional partnerships are crucial to ensure no beneficiary is overlooked once the Fund is fully operational. These engagements signify a coordinated national effort to expand access to quality healthcare and strengthen Ghana's health system, aiming for inclusive and equitable healthcare delivery.
