
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II arrives in US for working visit
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has arrived in the United States for a two-week working visit. He was received by H.E. Victor Emmanuel Smith, Ghana鈥檚 Ambassador to the United States; Aisha N. Braveboy, Prince George鈥檚 County Executive; traditional leaders; and other dignitaries. The visit includes the opening of Millennium Excellence Week 2026, featuring the MEA Otumfuo Invitational, and business and cultural events organized by the Millennium Excellence Foundation. The itinerary concludes with the Akwasidae Kese celebration on August 30, 2026, at Bowie State University in Maryland. The trip aims to strengthen ties between Ghana and the United States, foster cultural exchange, diaspora engagement, and investment partnerships. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II departed from Kumasi鈥檚 Prempeh I International Airport on August 23, 2026.
