Duduzane Zuma states MK party will not tolerate incompetence amidst questions about his political experience
Duduzane Zuma, the first deputy president of the uMkhonto weSizwe MK party, has declared that the party will not tolerate "incompetence," despite ongoing concerns about instability within its ranks. This statement follows criticism regarding the party's frequent changes to its national leadership structures, with most appointments reportedly made by its founder, Jacob Zuma, as the party has not held an elective conference. Duduzane Zuma made these comments in the Eastern Cape during a visit by top party leaders, including his father, to the AmaMpodomise royal kingdom. He emphasized that the changes are not indicative of turmoil but rather a commitment to ensuring that only capable individuals are in leadership positions to deliver services to the people. He believes these changes enhance voter confidence by demonstrating the party's dedication to having the "best of the best." However, political analyst Ntsikelelo Breakfast has questioned Duduzane Zuma's leadership capabilities, suggesting that while he articulates well, his political understanding may be limited. Breakfast also expressed concerns that the constant leadership and structural changes within the MK party could negatively impact its performance in the upcoming polls, describing the appointment of Zuma's son as a sign that the party operates like a "family business."
