Gas Group plans Nigerian Exchange listing and expansion into refining, gas infrastructure, and power generation

This move aims to enhance corporate governance, improve access to capital, and fund expansion into refining, gas infrastructure, and power generation. The company also plans to develop dedicated gas-to-power infrastructure for AI-powered data centers, hyperscale computing facilities, and other energy-intensive digital infrastructure across Nigeria and Africa. Group Chief Executive Officer, Gliffeth Wonuigwe, stated that the listing would provide an organized market for the company's shares, improve price discovery, and offer opportunities for investors to participate in its growth.

The transaction will be a listing by introduction, meaning existing shares will be admitted without an immediate public offer. Historically operating in Nigeria's oil and gas services, Gas Group is repositioning itself as an integrated refining, gas, and energy-infrastructure business, covering liquefied natural gas, gas processing, transportation, storage, power generation, and energy solutions for industrial customers. The expansion addresses Nigeria's persistent electricity challenges and the growing energy demand from artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.
