President Tebboune moved by story of police officer who died a hero in Jijel fires
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited the Zéralda burns hospital to check on victims of the recent fires. During his visit, he was deeply moved by the story of a police officer from Jijel who saved an entire family before succumbing to his injuries. The President heard the account from a doctor treating a patient from El Ancer, Jijel, who was among wedding guests trapped by the flames. President Tebboune acknowledged the role of strong winds in the rapid spread of the fires but also suggested criminal acts might be involved, stating that investigations would be conducted to determine the real causes. He reassured victims that all cases, including the most severe, would receive full medical care. He was accompanied by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, and Minister of Health Mohamed Seddik Aït Messaoudene.
