
Nigerian troops disrupt terrorist activities, recover N5.3m in Zamfara
Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have disrupted terrorist activities in Zamfara State, recovering military accoutrements, motorcycles, and over N5.3 million in cash. Operations on Friday included clearing an Improvised Explosive Device near Jabanda village in Zurmi Local Government Area. Troops encountered and engaged terrorists at Birnin Tsaba village, recovering two motorcycles, a camouflage jungle hat, and a handheld radio. In Shinkafi Local Government Area, troops engaged terrorists around Kwanar Jolof, recovering a motorcycle, two camouflage uniforms, a camouflage vest, and a jungle hat. Additionally, troops near Maradun intercepted Lawali Dan Alo, an alleged terrorist collaborator and logistics supplier, with N5.302 million in cash and a mobile phone. Preliminary interrogation led to the arrest of Kasimu Garba, who was allegedly to receive the funds. Both suspects are in custody for further investigation. The Theatre Command commended the troops and urged public vigilance and information sharing.
