Friends of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba announce candlelight night in Lagos
Friends of the late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba have announced a candlelight and artist night in her honor. The event, titled “An Evening of Love, Music & Memories,” is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, at LTV 8 Blueroof, Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 5 pm. Organizers describe it as an opportunity to celebrate Osoba’s life, creativity, and contributions to the arts, stating that her voice, art, and spirit will remain in their hearts. This announcement follows the actress's death at age 40, which was shared by fellow actor Alesh Sanni on Wednesday. Another actress, Adeyemo Seilat, also mourned Osoba. Osoba had publicly discussed her battle with cancer two years prior and announced her return to the movie industry in August 2025, aiming to promote cancer awareness. The family of Awonuga/Osoba has urged the public and media to disregard unauthorized reports about the circumstances of her death, stating that circulating claims are false and speculative. They requested privacy and time to grieve, promising to communicate any official information through their authorized channels. Osoba was known for her roles in Yoruba-language Nollywood productions.
