Douglas Acheampong, 28, was reportedly shot dead during a clash involving individuals believed to be military officers at Akyem Hemang in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2026, allegedly stemmed from a dispute over a mining concession belonging to Narawa Mining Company. An eyewitness account shared by ASK GHANA on X stated that Douglas was at an Indomie joint when a man believed to be a soldier allegedly slapped him. Douglas reportedly tried to fight back before attempting to flee, at which point he was shot.
