Senegalese defender Mamadou Sarr leaves Chelsea for Real Sociedad on loan
Senegalese defender Mamadou Sarr, 20, is set to join Real Sociedad on a one-season loan without a purchase option, departing Chelsea where he arrived in January from Strasbourg. Sarr has played only seven matches for Chelsea since his arrival. Real Sociedad aims to provide him with more playing time and a conducive environment for his development. Sarr chose the Spanish club over Al-Hilal, which had presented its project to him, highlighting the presence of his compatriot Kalidou Koulibaly. The sporting project of Real Sociedad and the influence of Xabi Alonso were significant factors in Sarr's decision, as he seeks to continue his development at the highest European level. This move is a temporary loan, with Chelsea retaining full ownership of the player, expecting him to gain experience in a demanding league like La Liga.
