Former Executive Secretary Dennis Aboagye allegedly sought removal of audit findings on GH¢102.2 million bank account

This request, made during a July 18, 2025, meeting, reportedly included findings related to a bank account with transactions totaling GH¢102,256,802.69, which was not disclosed in official handing-over notes. The Secretariat claims Aboagye also asked for the removal of findings concerning PNY Investment Limited, BMABA Enterprise, and GAPTE. The current Executive Secretary declined these requests.

These allegations are part of the Secretariat's response to Aboagye's comments on Asempa FM on July 21, 2026, which it described as inaccurate. A 2025 forensic audit found Aboagye and the institution’s Accountant jointly culpable for financial and administrative irregularities. The audit report has been submitted to the Economic and Organised Crime Office EOCO for further action.

The Secretariat denied Aboagye's claims of political pressure or victimisation, stating the audit is a standard governance process. It also appealed for the return of official documents, including handing-over notes.
