Former CID director sues national security operative and media houses for defamation, seeks GH¢10 million

The defendants include Prosper Kay, Roger A. Agana, NewsGhana.com.gh, Supreme Newspaper, Cloudview Technology Limited, and Opera Norway AS Opera News. The lawsuit stems from a published story, allegedly initiated by Amegadzie, which suggested that COP Andoh-Kwofie used her police position for land grabbing. She asserts the report is false and is seeking a High Court declaration that the publication is defamatory.

COP Andoh-Kwofie is requesting the defendants delete the story, retract it, issue an unreserved apology, and pay GH¢10 million in damages. She also seeks a perpetual injunction to prevent further publication of the material. She stated that the land in question is currently subject to court proceedings and that the story was framed to falsely portray her as a corrupt officer who abused her office.
