Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes named PFA Players’ Player of the Year for 2026
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been awarded the 2026 Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player of the Year. The Portuguese midfielder received the honor at the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony after being voted the best player of the 2025/26 season by his fellow professionals. Fernandes, who joined Manchester United in January 2020, beat five other nominees, including Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, and Arsenal's Declan Rice, David Raya, and Gabriel Magalhães. This award follows a season where Fernandes provided 21 assists in the Premier League, contributing to Manchester United's third-place finish and qualification for the UEFA Champions League. He had also previously been named the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year and the Premier League’s Player of the Season. The PFA Players’ Player of the Year award is notable for being decided by votes from other players.
