Former Central Bank of Guinea governor sentenced to five years in prison

A warrant has been issued for his arrest. The Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses Crief found him guilty of an "unaccounted disbursement" of approximately $10 million from the Central Bank. In addition to the prison sentence, Bah was fined five billion Guinean francs 495,000 euros and his assets were ordered to be confiscated by the Guinean state.

He was also ordered to pay $10.5 million in principal and five billion Guinean francs in damages. Bah was, however, declared not guilty of theft and complicity in theft. According to his family, Bah is currently abroad for medical treatment.

Crief is an anti-corruption court established by the military government that overthrew former President Alpha Condé.
