Côte d'Ivoire's CEPICI supports strategic textile partnership in Shanghai
The Investment Promotion Centre in Côte d’Ivoire CEPICI participated in the signing of a collaboration agreement in Shanghai on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The agreement was made between the Cotton, Cashew and Shea Council and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Textile Industry Sub-Council CCPIT-TEX. Signed during the InterTextile Shanghai 2026 Fair, this convention aims to strengthen exchanges between Ivorian and Chinese operators, encourage investment mobilization, facilitate technology transfers, and foster partnerships in the cotton, textile, and apparel sectors. Solange Amichia, Director General of CEPICI, attended the ceremony alongside Mamadou Berté, Director General of CCA-K, and Jérôme Kouassi Ehui, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Côte d'Ivoire's Ambassador to China, H.E. Abou Dosso, was also present. CEPICI views this initiative as part of its strategy to promote structuring investments and develop local value chains, aligning with the National Development Plan PND 2026-2030. The partnership is expected to enhance Sino-Ivorian industrial cooperation through investments, technology, training, and capacity building, with the goal of accelerating local cotton processing and the growth of the Ivorian textile industry. The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, a partner of Côte d'Ivoire, facilitated the Ivorian participation in InterTextile Shanghai 2026 and the conclusion of this agreement.
