
Captain Ibrahim Traoré presides over Georges Namoano Military Academy graduation
Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, Head of State, and Supreme Head of the National Armed Forces, presided over the official graduation ceremony of the 25th class of active-duty officer cadets from the Georges Namoano Military Academy on Saturday, July 25. The ceremony, marking the completion of officer training, took place at the site of the new Academy, which is currently under construction. A total of 217 new second lieutenants were commissioned, serving Burkina Faso and nine other African countries: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Chad, and Togo. The Burkinabe contingent of this graduating class comprises 199 officers. Captain Traoré urged the new second lieutenants to be leaders, guides, and guardians of the people's hope.
