Moroccan goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch joins Stade de Reims
Chouaib Bellaarouch, a young Moroccan international goalkeeper from the Mohammed VI Football Academy, has joined Stade de Reims, the French Ligue 2 club announced on Friday, August 22, 2026. Bellaarouch, 18, will integrate into "Reims Révélations," the club's post-training structure, specifically its "Elite Group," to further his development. Considered a promising goalkeeper in Morocco, Bellaarouch arrives from the Mohammed VI Academy, following in the footsteps of his brother Allaa Bellaarouch, who played for Strasbourg in Ligue 1. He is set to experience European football, building on his international experience with Moroccan youth selections. Bellaarouch notably excelled in the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup in 2025, playing a decisive role in Morocco's victory at the U17 AFCON, where he was named Best Goalkeeper. He also showcased his talent at the U17 World Cup, particularly against the United States in the round of 16. In April, during the Mohammed VI U19 international tournament, Bellaarouch saved three penalties against Leeds United in the semi-finals, helping his team, the Moroccan academy, win the competition and earning him the Best Goalkeeper title once more. Stade de Reims expressed enthusiasm for his potential and aims to support his development within Reims Révélations.
