Tunisia secures multiple medals at the Taranto Mediterranean Games
Tunisia continues to accumulate medals at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, with four new medals in taekwondo, swimming, and fencing. In taekwondo, Tunisian champion Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi won a silver medal in the under 68 kg category, losing to France's Souleyman Alaphilippe in the final. Jendoubi had previously defeated Slovenia's Ožbolt Mlej, Greece's Apostolos Panagiotopoulos, and Croatia's Marko Golubic. This is the second taekwondo medal for Tunisia, following Chayma Toumi's bronze in the under 57 kg category. In swimming, Mohamed Yassine Ben Abbes earned a bronze in the 200-meter backstroke, and Ahmed Jaouadi secured a bronze in the 400-meter freestyle. In fencing, Tunisian Olympic champion Fares Ferjani won a bronze medal in sabre, after being eliminated in the semi-finals by Turkey's Enver Yildirim by a single touch.
