Atletico Madrid chief rules out Julian Alvarez transfer to Barcelona, citing dishonesty and lack of ethics
Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin has firmly rejected Barcelona's attempts to sign Julian Alvarez, accusing the Catalan club of dishonesty and a lack of ethics. Gil Marin stated that the Argentine forward would "never, ever" be sold to Barcelona, emphasizing that Atletico's board of directors unanimously supports this stance. He expressed outrage at Barcelona's continued pursuit after their president indicated strong interest in Alvarez, despite Atletico insisting the player is not for sale to their LaLiga rivals. Gil Marin also noted that the situation has caused confusion and pressure for Alvarez, describing him as struggling personally and professionally. While his preference is for Alvarez to remain at Atletico, Gil Marin reiterated that any alternative transfer would not involve Barcelona.
