Egypt denies any connection to TIHAMA vessel targeted off Yemen coast
Egypt's Ministry of Transport has refuted claims linking Egypt to the vessel TIHAMA, reportedly targeted by the Houthi group near Yemen. The ministry issued a statement addressing media and social media reports that suggested the operating company's address was in Alexandria, Egypt. The statement clarified that the TIHAMA is registered under the Tanzanian flag and is owned by a Yemeni national. It is operated by Blue Sea for Management Marine, with its branch located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The ministry emphasized that the ship is not registered with Egypt’s maritime chambers, nor has it been licensed by Egypt’s maritime transport and logistics sector for maritime agency activities. Furthermore, the ministry stated that the vessel has never entered Egyptian waters, was not en route to Egypt, and was not transporting cargo for any Egyptian entities or individuals.
