Egypt and Saudi Arabia urge disregard of media claims on bilateral ties
The foreign ministers of Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Badr Abdelatty and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, have called for the public to disregard media and social media reports concerning the close relations between their two countries. During a phone call, they praised the deep, strategic, and fraternal relations and affirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation. Discussions included preparations for the first Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council meeting and the upcoming political consultation mechanism session. They also stressed the importance of increasing mutual visits and strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation. Amid rapid regional developments, the ministers discussed efforts by regional partners, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, to reduce tensions and contain escalation, highlighting efforts to revive the diplomatic track under the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. They emphasized addressing regional security concerns, respecting state sovereignty, and ensuring the security and freedom of navigation in international waterways. The ministers also discussed activating the regional quartet efforts comprising Egypt, Saudi Arabia, T眉rkiye, and Pakistan to support de-escalation and enhance regional security and stability.
