Egypt and Djibouti discuss African business summit and regional cooperation

Their conversation also covered strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, and exchanging views on developments in the Horn of Africa. Abdelatty emphasized the growing momentum in Egyptian-Djiboutian relations and the directives from both countries' leaders to advance cooperation in renewable energy, construction, logistics zones, ports, and maritime connectivity. He also highlighted the importance of Egyptian companies and the private sector supporting Djibouti’s national development plans.

The African business summit, part of the Alamein Africa Forum, will precede the African Union mid-year summit in Alamein on October 4. The forum, to be held biennially, aims to strengthen economic and investment partnerships between Egypt and African countries, with broad participation from leaders, officials, businesspeople, and private-sector representatives. The ministers also exchanged views on security and political developments in the Horn of Africa and efforts to promote stability and strengthen regional peace and security in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
