Nairobi Hospital golf tournament supports children's heart surgeries
The Nairobi Hospital's 2026 Children's Charity Heart Fund Golf Tournament, held at Karen Country Club on Friday, August 14, brought together golfers, sponsors, and corporate partners to raise funds for children awaiting specialized heart treatment. The charity fund has provided free, life-saving heart surgery to over 400 children over the years. According to Nairobi Hospital Chief Executive Officer Felix Osano, the tournament helps provide essential treatment, including theatre time, diagnostic services, and specialist cardiac care for children whose families have exhausted financial options. Kenya Hospital Association Board of Management Chairman Dr. Barcley Onyambu stated that the fund reflects the hospital's responsibility to ensure quality healthcare reaches those who cannot afford it. The tournament strengthens partnerships and aims to expand access to specialized pediatric cardiac services for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
