Diamniadio overpass project delays questioned by Deputy Saliou Ndione

The construction, initially slated for 12 months, began in June 2023 and remains incomplete three years later. This delay has severely impacted mobility for users in the Cap-Vert peninsula and its regional access points. The overpass, located at the entrance to Diamniadio, is a critical junction connecting National Road 1 and the Diamniadio Urban Pole, handling daily traffic to and from Dakar, Blaise Diagne International Airport, industrial zones, and inland regions.

Ndione's written inquiry to Minister Fall highlights the strategic importance of this intersection. He seeks clarification on whether the delays are due to technical incapacities, financial strains, or contractual failures. The Deputy also demands a clear and definitive completion date for the overpass and its connections to the Urban Pole, noting that the unfinished work obstructs smooth access to the capital, leading to lost hours in traffic, increased fuel costs, and degraded safety conditions.
