Yan Diomandé officially presented as new Real Madrid player
Ivorian international Yan Diomandé was officially presented as a new Real Madrid player on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The young forward was welcomed at Ciudad Real Madrid by club president Florentino Pérez, where he signed a seven-season contract, lasting until June 30, 2033. Diomandé will wear the number 25 jersey. During the ceremony, he received a replica of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, a watch, and his new jersey. Real Madrid's honorary president, José Martínez Pirri, was also present. Diomandé expressed his pride in joining one of the world's most prestigious football clubs, stating, "Hello Madridistas! I am happy to be here and very excited to see you tomorrow at the Bernabéu. Go Madrid!" This presentation follows his official debut with Real Madrid a few days prior. Diomandé played his first La Liga match on Saturday, August 22, 2026, coming on in the 64th minute for Arda Güler in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory against Espanyol. He contributed to the decisive action by passing the ball to Kylian Mbappé before Carlos Espí scored the winning goal. This victory marked the start of Real Madrid's La Liga season with three points, placing them sixth in the standings after their first match. Diomandé is now preparing for his first appearance before the Santiago Bernabéu public, an event highly anticipated by both Ivorian and Madrid fans as he aims to establish himself in José Mourinho's squad.
