Al-Hadba Al-Khadra Hospital performs Libya's first Shockwave IVL procedure
Tripoli's Al-Hadba Al-Khadra General Hospital successfully conducted Libya's inaugural Shockwave Intravascular Lithotripsy IVL procedure. This minimally invasive treatment uses sonic pressure waves to break up hardened calcium blockages in arteries, allowing for safer stent placement. The Department for Support and Development of Medical Services DSDMS supervised the procedure, which is part of its strategy to localize medical treatment, improve cardiac and interventional catheterization services, and introduce advanced therapeutic technologies within Libya. This initiative aligns with the Tripoli government's broader objective of localizing medical services and healthcare.
