
President Tinubu establishes APC 2027 presidential campaign council, names Abdulaziz Yari Director-General
President Bola Tinubu has formed the Presidential Campaign Council for the All Progressives Congress in preparation for the 2027 general election. Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, will serve as the council's Director-General, with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary. President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will act as Chairman and Vice-Chairman I, respectively, while APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda is Vice-Chairman II. The council includes advisers such as Bisi Akande and Senator Rochas Okorocha. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni are Deputy Director-Generals for the South and North zones. Senator Adams Oshiomhole is Deputy Director-General for mobilisation, and the President's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is Deputy Director-General for administration. James Faleke returns as Deputy Director-General for election planning, coordination, and monitoring, working with zonal directors. Muiz Banire, SAN, will lead the legal directorate, and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, will serve as Coordinating Director for Media and Strategic Communication. Segun Dada is the Director of New Media, and Dele Alake leads five spokespersons. President Tinubu urged all council members to work diligently for the party's victory in the January 2027 elections, emphasizing the party's achievements and economic progress.
