FCT Minister Wike orders immediate closure of dissolved federal government houses committee secretariat
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has ordered the immediate closure of the secretariat for the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on Sales of Federal Government Houses in the FCT. This directive was announced in a statement released on Wednesday by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communications and Social Media. Minister Wike has also approved the establishment of a new division within the Department of Land Administration. This new division will be responsible for all matters concerning the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT, taking over the duties previously performed by the defunct ad-hoc committee. The FCT Administration noted that the secretariat had remained operational after the committee concluded its work to address residual issues. With its formal closure, the public is now advised to direct all inquiries regarding the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT to the Department of Land Administration. The FCT Administration also issued a warning to the public about fraudsters who may impersonate staff or members of the now-defunct committee or its secretariat.
