BITRI focuses on SME-led technology commercialisation

The institute plans to license innovations to small and medium enterprises SMEs, create spin-off companies, and form strategic industrial partnerships. Lesego Moribame, BITRI Acting Director of Research and Partnerships, stated that the commercialisation agenda aims to translate research into economic activity, industrial development, and job creation. Moribame highlighted that BITRI's mandate as a parastatal is to develop technology-based solutions for national priorities and to achieve real-world impact beyond just research.
