Azura Group achieves B Corp certification for its cherry tomato production entities

The Azura Group has announced that its cherry tomato production entities have received B Corp Certification following an independent evaluation by B Lab. This certification acknowledges over 35 years of the group's commitment to a growth model that balances economic performance, social responsibility, and environmental preservation. It also confirms Azura's ability to demonstrate positive and measurable impacts across five key areas: governance, employees, environment, customers, and communities. To achieve this recognition, the group highlighted its ethical framework, integrated management of water, climate, and biodiversity issues, and the revival of literacy programs for employees and local communities. This certification is particularly significant in the fruit and vegetable sector, where B Corp certified companies are rare. Azura notes that only sixteen fruit and vegetable production companies worldwide currently hold this certification, with the tomato segment being underrepresented. Additionally, organizations with over 1,000 employees account for only 2% of global B Corp certified companies, underscoring the rigorous standards for large structures.
