
Nigeria's senior women's handball team announces squad for IHF Nations Trophy Africa Zone III
Michael Taangahar, coach of Nigeria's Senior Women's Handball National Team, has named a 16-player squad for the first IHF Women's Nations Trophy Africa Zone III. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 2 to 6, 2026, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The team has been training in Abuja and will travel to the Benin Republic for friendly matches as part of their final preparations. Nigeria is set to play Ghana on September 3 and then face host nation Burkina Faso on September 4. The squad includes Bisi Oyewusi, Matthew Esther, Ahamefula Chinemerem, Sunday Hope, Ovetuo Rachael, Saaloo Daina, Audu Mercy, Emuore Enifome, Modebe Queen, Yusuf Toyin, Babatunde Taiwo, Ogbusimba Childera, Musa Sadiya, Nuhu Wuraola, Onyekwere Lucy, and Muhammad Bilkisu. Innocent Chukwuma Nwankwo will assist Coach Taangahar.
