Cricket Namibia and Stadio Higher Education partner to advance education and athlete development
Cricket Namibia and Stadio Higher Education have signed an agreement to promote education, athlete development, and lifelong learning within Namibia's cricket community. Brighten Simasiku, head of campus for Stadio Higher Education Namibia, stated that this partnership aims to create pathways for student-athletes and strengthen the link between education and sport. The collaboration will leverage Stadio's flexible distance learning options with Cricket Namibia's focus on employee and athlete development, allowing athletes to pursue qualifications without disrupting their training. This initiative is expected to enhance data collection, broaden Stadio's qualifications, and address gaps in sport management. Johan Muller, Cricket Namibia chief executive, emphasized their vision to empower staff and players, enabling them to pursue careers beyond cricket. The partnership originated when Stadio became a franchise owner of a junior cricket team. Cricket Namibia staff, players, and administrators will receive discounted rates for Stadio's courses, ranging from short learning programs to doctorate programs. Simasiku also indicated the potential for developing new courses and curricula tailored to Cricket Namibia's needs through this collaboration.
