
C么te d'Ivoire launches national digital trust root with Public Key Infrastructure service
The National Agency for Information Systems Security of C么te d'Ivoire ANSSI-CI announced on Monday, July 27, 2026, the activation of its national Public Key Infrastructure PKI. This strategic platform positions C么te d'Ivoire at the forefront of internationally recognized electronic certificate issuance. This development signifies the establishment of the first sovereign national trust root for the Ivorian electronic certification ecosystem, serving as a key mechanism to enhance the security of digital exchanges among government, businesses, and citizens. ANSSI-CI stated that this achievement is the culmination of a multi-year process. The agency's recognition by the International Telecommunication Union ITU and the International Organization for Standardization ISO as a national registration authority for Object Identifiers OIDs laid the technical and institutional groundwork for this infrastructure. The national PKI will serve as the foundation of trust for all certification authorities operating in C么te d'Ivoire, ensuring the authenticity, integrity, and non-repudiation of electronic transactions. This is crucial for the development of secure digital services.
