Aly Ngouille Ndiaye discusses Ousmane Sonko's use of secret funds

Ndiaye stated that Sonko's allocated political funds, amounting to 1.7 billion FCFA, were fully utilized before he requested additional budget, raising questions about the transparency of these expenditures. Ndiaye emphasized that Sonko should account for his use of these resources during his tenure as head of government. He highlighted that Sonko is the first Senegalese head of government to receive such dedicated political funds, noting that previous Prime Ministers, with the exception of Boun Abdallah Dionne, did not have access to such an allocation.

Ndiaye mentioned that neither Dionne nor Amadou Bâ received such an envelope. He also pointed out that Sidiki Kaba, who succeeded Sonko, served for too short a period for the issue to arise in his case. Regarding the 1.7 billion FCFA figure, Ndiaye noted that its periodicity is unclear, with some suggesting it's a quarterly amount and others an annual sum.

If quarterly, the annual total would be around 8 billion FCFA.
