
Algeria implements remote management system for drinking water services
Algeria's Minister of Water Resources, Loun猫s Bouzegza, officially launched a remote management system for drinking water services. This initiative aims to modernize the monitoring of hydraulic infrastructure, including reservoirs and distribution networks, using advanced technological devices for optimized remote control. The primary goal is to rationalize water resources and reduce unnecessary field interventions, aligning with the sector's digital transition roadmap. Bouzegza emphasized that the digitalization of water management is an "absolute necessity," enabling real-time monitoring of reservoirs, centralized equipment control, and immediate detection of malfunctions for rapid intervention. A pilot project in Sa茂da marks the beginning of a comprehensive modernization of the sector. The system will be progressively rolled out to enhance the efficiency of the drinking water network, providing precise and instant data to detect leaks, optimize technical fault management, and automate the monitoring of levels and flows. These key indicators will facilitate real-time decision-making and accelerate incident resolution on the ground. According to Bouzegza, remote management signifies a shift from reactive to proactive administration, utilizing predictive analysis to anticipate failures and ensure continuous public service.
