Malian Prime Minister visits Algiers to strengthen bilateral relations with Algeria
Abdoulaye Ma茂ga, the Prime Minister and head of the Malian government, arrived in Algiers on Monday for a working visit, leading a significant delegation. He was welcomed at Houari-Boumediene International Airport by his Algerian counterpart, Sifi Ghrieb, along with Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, and Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies. This visit aims to reinforce historical ties between Algeria and Mali, promoting cooperation based on fraternity, good neighborliness, and mutual respect. Ma茂ga also visited the Sanctuary of the Martyr, where he laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence for those who died for Algeria's independence. This gesture is seen as a significant political signal following recent periods of tension in Algerian-Malian relations, particularly concerning security and regional issues. Algeria views Mali as a crucial partner in the Sahel-Saharan region for security, diplomatic, and economic matters, with Mali's stability being directly important to Algeria.
