Malema asserts EFF will campaign across KwaZulu-Natal despite political challenges
EFF leader Julius Malema declared that his party will campaign throughout KwaZulu-Natal, dismissing the notion of any no-go areas in the province. Speaking in Pietermaritzburg to party members ahead of local government elections, Malema emphasized the EFF's intention to establish a presence everywhere, including in areas associated with former President Zuma. He stated that no politician, including the IFP, would deter him from campaigning in KwaZulu-Natal, asserting that he cannot be intimidated. Malema expressed his goal for the EFF to become an influential political force in the province, stating the party is there to stay. He positioned the EFF as a party for the poor and excluded, committed to protecting the rights of unemployed youth, petrol attendants, domestic workers, and farm workers. Malema urged his supporters not to fear established parties like the IFP, ANC, or MK, warning that fear could lead to votes being stolen. He encouraged bravery and resilience, stating that no one has a monopoly on violence and that ideas cannot be killed. Malema also highlighted the EFF's role as the hope for young people and criticized the deterioration of municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal under the ANC, citing Msunduzi Local Municipality as an example of urban decay.
